Oxfam-Solidarity sells books online!

After opening five second hand bookshops in Brussels, Ghent, Liège, Turnhout and Ukkel, Oxfam-Solidarity now launches its first online bookshop! Our primary focus is on older scientific works and out-of-print curios. Eventually, interesting literary works and comic strips from our Ghent branch will also be on offer. Oxfam-Solidarity is the Belgian member of Oxfam International. The budgets raised by Oxfam-Solidarity are being employed to finance emergency aid and development projects. We support 35 partner organizations in the South working for true social improvement.
The idea to start an online bookshop came up after receiving somewhat 2000 works from the Ghent University Library. These books were too specialized to be sold at the Ghent bookshop. Thanks to the internet however, it has now become possible to reach interested buyers.
After some months of careful preparation, the first online bookshop of Oxfam-Solidarity is now being launched. Following the example of Oxfam Great Britain, we have chosen to operate through the well-known second hand site Abebooks. This way buyers can be assured of the correct handling of their purchases and payments.
Next to older editions you will also find more recent books on our site, mainly remainders from VUBPress. As soon as the Ghent University donation has been processed, we plan to widen our scope to literary works, comic strips, youth fiction and non-fiction.
Do take a look in our catalogue.
